Let's not forget the rest of the family!!
On de left is Chico, born in 1997. His official name is Chico van Charviance, now how does that sound? Chico is a real character who `allows` you to play and hug with him. If heŽs not in the right mood heŽll let you the hard way.......
Below on the right is Spiky, born 2000. He is very easy
going and kind and likes to hang around in front of the house. Nearly the
complete neighbourhood knows him by name and he's even a wellknown
guest in the small supermarket around the corner.
New family member since Augustus 2007: Snowy! Snowy is in fact a birthday
present for Rick as he wanted a pet of his own for a long time. Chico and Spiky have their
own ideas about the intruder because he really develops into a little
terrorist. He wants to be in charge and jumps at both to show them their
place.
On the left you see Spiky with a very young Snowy in
2007. Currently (May 2010) Snowy has grown quite a bit and browsing the
neighbourhood all day. From time to time he proudly brings back a frog, a
mouse or a bird like the small one in below pic.
Since January 2010 we again have a new family member. It's Gizmo, half Ragdoll and half Main Coon, born on November 11th, 2009. Gizmo is very curious, very much alive and very energetic. He likes to play with the other cats but they do not seem to be amused very much by his enthousiasm.
But Gizmo doesn't mind that and likes to be friends with everyone. If he's tired, he just pushes Chico aside a bit and joins him for a nap. His sleeping positions however do seem a bit strange or not?
Below some nice pics of Chico and Spiky. On the left they are sitting in the bird house, possibly waiting for a nice snack?!? I would bet that both "heroes" would be more afraid of the bird than the other way around. On the right a nice pic of Spiky.
July 28th, 2010: During our summer holiday Gizmo gets hit by a car and dies. We were not aware of this until our return and were absolutely shocked. Gizmo,our little, cheerful friend was only 9 months old and had a bright future ahead of him. We shall miss him so much.
Ro fill the empty place in our home, we have a new family member since August 8th, 2010. It's the 5 month old Nookie, hald Maine Coon and half Norwegian Forest cat. This young man is extremely self confident and made it very clear to Snowy, Chico and Spiky that there can be only 1 boss in this house. Nookie is extremely lively, quick and curious. I'm quite sure that he will be the Master of the neighbourhood once he will be allowed to go out in the back yard.
